ABOUT

AFAF is an international art fair sustaining, since 2015, the long-lasting tradition in Fukuoka of openness to artistic and cultural exchanges with Asia.

For the ninth year in a row, the fair will be held for a duration of four days from September 26th to September 28th, 2025 at the locally acclaimed Fukuoka International Center in Hakata. With the support of Fukuoka City via the "Fukuoka Art Next" initiative and Culture Vision Japan, a transagency association, we aim to host a space of co-creation, synergy and diversity, engaging various media and participants.

This year, we will welcome our visitors in a venue especially designed as an opportunity for exchange between artists from Japan and other Asian countries. AFAF will be collaborating with museums, universities, private businesses, and art fairs in Japan and abroad, in order to encourage the development of Asian contemporary art.

We hope to further develop the ever-flourishing social and logistical hub of diverse interactions between Japan and the rest of Asia that Fukuoka has been for centuries, through engaging and vibrant contemporary art.
